Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash
volume : 1
publisher: Jnovel-club (digital)

volume synopsis:
Why are we doing this...?
When Haruhiro came to, he was in the darkness. Not knowing why was he here, or where "here" even was. With him were others who also remembered little more than their own names. What they found when they came out of the underground was a world that was "just like a game." In order to survive, Haruhiro forms a party with others in the same situation as him, learns skills, and takes his first steps forward into the world of Grimgar as a trainee volunteer soldier.
Not knowing what awaits him... This is a tale of adventure born from the ashes.
My Thought:(contain spoiler)
(every thing in red are a major spoiler avoid them if you want)
This volume was literally a light read, good and fun.
Everything you seek from a fantasy novel, you will find it here.
It's an isekai LN but well done (by well done i mean they are not focusing that much on the isekai aspect and the ability that they gain by getting transport to this world).
The character are not overpowered (and don't know even their past which made it awesome) and that's what give this volume it's strength. In all this volume you will follow how they develop their skill, how they started a complete failure who are not able to kill the weakest monsters (goblins) to become at least average fighter. their development was not rushed, it was step by step build spoiler (i liked the fact that their leader Manato died at pretty much the beginning of their journey it showed how weak they were and at the end how they revenged him -hardly they were able to kill the goblins- but they succeeded )
The world building at this moment is good, we don't know much but at least what we know now is well done.
Character are lovable, even Ranta -which is in the story a pain to deal with for the rest of the party- added a lot of funny moment.
The other character : Moguzo, Haruhiro, Shihoru and Yume each one have a very unique aspect, which at least when you read the dialogue you instantly know who is talking.
One of the best development in this story is Mary (the substitue after Manato death as a priest), how they build a relationship with her by knowing her and slightly making her more friendly with them.
The only point that i didn't like very much is how Manato died, it didn't convey that sad emotion that i felt when i watched the anime.
Overall, it's a good and a must read if you are looking for a good fantasy, a good world and character building.
My rate:
Character 9/10 (one of the good Character building)
Writing 7/10 (it didn't convey the emotion needed at some point)
Art 8.5/10 (a different art style that i loved)
Fight scene 9/10 (well described )
Overall 8/10 (a must read volume 1 )
"this is my first review ever i didn't go in detail to not ruin the fun of the reading, i will try my best to improve at writing review"
